I read somewhere a possibly important factoid about failed 1031 exchanges:
If your 1031 exchange fails, you will not see your money until day 181 from the close of the relinquished property.
If you have money left over, same story.
Over the years, I have had people tell me this is not true. Even by some who claim to teach 1031 exchange courses.
Well, it is true.
